The North Carolina Stroke Association hosted its sixth annual “Cycle for Life...2009” at Hanover Park Vineyard, Yadkinville, North Carolina on Saturday, October 3rd. An estimated 200 cyclists participated, choosing from among the 7.5-25-40-65 mile route options.
Over $32,000 was raised with proceeds going to support the North Carolina Stroke Association’s Grant Program. Grants are awarded to hospitals for the benefit of implementing stroke programs in their community, and in their hospitals. Since launching the grant program, the Stroke Association has awarded grants totaling $47,000 to rural hospitals.
The tour included good exercise, great food provided by California Fresh Catering, music by disc jockey Ken Spence, camaraderie, and wine tasting from among five Hanover Park Vineyard wines. Numerous participants have stated that this is one of the best bike tours they have ever ridden in, and that they look forward to the event, every year since it began in 2004.
We invite you to view the photographs of the tour. And, we invite you to join us next year for “Cycle for Life...2010”. Date details will be posted in December 2009.
